PRIORITIES FOR District 9
-
Increase First Responders: Angi will advocate to add more police and firefighters, including a new Stone Oak police substation and a new north side fire station to reduce response times and deter crime.
Neighborhood Safety: Angi will advocate for additional equipment and personnel for fire and police. Additionally, she will prioritize widening sidewalks near schools and high-traffic areas, and partner with CPS to improve lighting in key locations like cluster mailboxes.
Road Safety: Angi is committed to addressing aggressive driving and slowing down traffic in our neighborhoods by working closely with SAPD to utilize speed management techniques to ensure safer streets.
-
Full-Time Representation: Angi will be ready to work on day one and will guarantee the residents of District 9 that she will be a full-time Councilwoman.
Community First: Angi is committed to maintaining knowledgeable staff who know and care about our neighborhoods, continuing the high standard of service District 9 deserves. Decisions at City Hall should be informed by the community.
Open Office Hours: Angi will host regular open office hours to meet with residents, hear concerns, and ensure every voice is heard.
Expand Services for Seniors & Veterans: Angi supports aging-in-place programs for seniors, expanded transportation services to Walker Ranch Senior Center, and will ensure veterans and military families have housing, good jobs, and access to resources.
-
Maximize Tax Dollars: As a small-business owner, Angi is dedicated to supporting small businesses, recognizing that thriving local businesses benefit the entire community. She will use her expertise to maximize our budget, get rid of wasteful spending, and keep a cap on taxes.
Promote Economic Development: A strong local economy starts with supporting small businesses, attracting high-paying jobs, and ensuring responsible growth. Angi will work to cut red tape, provide relief for businesses impacted by road construction, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs. We need to attract new businesses to San Antonio, while also working to grow our local businesses.
Responsible Growth: Angi will ensure our infrastructure is reliable and well-maintained, and new development aligns with our community’s values and needs, enhancing quality of life and maintaining property values.
Parks & Natural Areas: Angi will protect existing green spaces, advocate for more family-friendly park features, and prioritize preserving the district’s natural beauty.
-
Community Center: District 9 needs a dedicated community center—an accessible, affordable space where neighborhood associations, small businesses, and community groups can gather, collaborate, and grow. A place to host meetings, workshops, and events, strengthening our connections and fostering a sense of belonging. When we create opportunities to bring people together, we build a stronger, more engaged community. It’s time to put District 9 tax dollars to work right here, investing in a space that truly serves and unites our residents.
